Versions and weights
Pin a version; each call counts with its version's weight.

Every call is answered by one published ATON Kestrel version. Pin it with the Kestrel-Version header (or ?version=); without one you get the newest. Versions read like the sites' own: ATON Kestrel ALPHA v0.1.0, then BETA, then no label at full launch.
Weights
A call counts with its version's weight, like the per-model prices of other AI APIs:
- every older published version counts 1x;
- the newest major version counts up to 1.5x, set by a founder when it is published;
- a patch update never changes the weight.
When a new major version is published, the previous one falls to 1x by itself. The weights now are on the Kestrel API page and at GET /api/kestrel/v1/versions.
What changes between versions
Patch versions retrain on new data with the same inputs and ride along inside the version you pinned. Minor versions add indicators or strategies; major versions are a new model design. We tell you before a minor or major version is published, and the last three minor versions stay available, with 90 days' notice before one retires.
